We are Pregnant!!!

September 11, 2002 - Today is a very somber day for America and my heart is heavy. I could have had the u/s on 9/9 but chose 9/11 so that I could celebrate a new life. The u/s today was done abdominally instead of transvaginally so the picture isn't as clear as it could be. I am 8wks 1 day and measured 8wks 4 days, 23.6mm and the heartrate was 160bpm. Just to compare this u/s to the PG last year I was 8wks 3 days and measured 7wks 6days and the baby measured 15.3mm. So I think we may have our keeper. My next appointment is October 16.

September 27, 2002 - Today I went to the OB because of a rash that doesn't seem to want to disappear. I was given two different types of medication and I asked if we could listen to the heartbeat. She said we would take a quick peek at the baby and listen to the h/b. OMGosh! I cannot believe how much the baby has grown in 2 weeks. It was kicking it's little legs nonstop and it has the cutest little nose.

October 16, 2002 - Today the h/b was 140. My next appt. is scheduled for November 13 and then u/s on December 4 to determine the sex.

November 5, 2002 - Impatient me couldn't wait 4 more weeks for an u/s. I called a very dear friend of mine that has also had a reversal and is a sonographer. I drove 1.5 hours to have an u/s done. It’s a girl!!!

November 13, 2002 - Today was my 17 week appt and I'm measuring 18 wks. We scheduled the csection too. She does them on Thursdays so Kylie will be born 4-17-03 exactly two years from my d&c. I still have my appt. for u/s on Dec. 4.

December 4, 2002 - 20wks 1day today and Kylie is measuring right on target. Everything looked great and is progressing as normal. My next appt. is scheduled for January 8.

January 8, 2003 - 25wks 1 day today and Kylie is growing like she should be. My next appt. is January 29 when I will have to drink the yucky orange stuff for the glucose tolerance test.

January 29, 2003 - I failed the 1hr glucose and must take the 3hr test tomorrow. ugh!! I also now have to take iron pills and count fetal movements for the next two weeks. I told the OB I was concerned about the movements yesterday so when she measured me(3x) she said I was carrying her in the back and that could attribute to why I don't feel a lot of the movement. They then put me on the fetal monitor and of course Kylie kicks the crap out of it and is constantly moving. I had to turn to one side so they could at least get an accurate reading.

I will go every 2 weeks now. I can't believe that the time is getting so near.

February 3, 2003 - I found out today that I passed the 3hr glucose test so no gestational diabetes for me. Yeah!!

February 7, 2003 - Today I met with Kylie's pediatrician for a consultation. His name is Dr. Klemm. His office and associates are open weekends and holidays so that is a plus. He will be seeing Kylie the day she is born and then his other associates will see her until she goes home. His bday is on the 18th so he will be taking time off.

February 12, 2003 - Today was my 30wk checkup and everything is progressing as it should. No protein in my urine today so that is wonderful. I've tried to stay away from caffeine since the last appointment and it seemed to help. Next appt. is February 26.

February 26, 2003 - Ok, first of all I only gained 1lb in the past two weeks but I'm measuring 34 weeks. Kylie has had this unusual movement in the last two weeks and I explained it to the OB. She has referred me to a high risk OB for a scan of Kylie's brain this afternoon (possible intrauterine seizures).

I had an extensive u/s which showed no signs of convulsions or downs syndrome. He looked for a cleft palate (sp) and monitored the heart for quite some time. He measured every little body part and had no explanation as to why I had the abnormal movements. After the u/s I was placed on the fetal monitor for about 30 minutes and once again Kylie proved she doesn't like to be bothered. She was very active and he thinks she is a perfectly normal growing baby. He does want to see me again next week and will do another u/s for growth.

btw, she was sucking her thumb and she is head down now. Next appt. is March 12

March 5, 2003 - Today I had a follow up with the high risk OB. Kylie weighs 4lbs 5oz and still head down. She is growing well but measuring a little behind on length. He wants to see me again on the 19th.

March 12, 2003 - Today was 34wk appt update with my OB. Pretty much an uneventful appt other than finding out I had gained 8lbs in 2 weeks. Oh well! I told her I had two baby showers over the weekend and attributed the weight gain to the cakes and the new Nestle Crunch Caramel. Next OB visit is March 26.

March 19, 2003 - Another follow up visit with the high risk OB. Kylie's humerus and femur bones are still measuring behind but all other organs look perfect. She weighed 5lb 10oz and just as beautiful as ever. I cannot wait to hold her in my arms.

March 26, 2003 - Today's 36wk OB visit was interesting. I have lost one pound and I'm beginning to dilate. I also had the Group B Strep test and should have results soon. Next visit is April 2.

April 2, 2003 - Noneventful appt. Kylie is measuring on time and next visit is April 9.

April 8, 2003 - This past Sunday I spent 3 hours in L&D due to swelling. They monitored my BP and I was having contractions and then sent home. I'm dilated 2cm and cervix is soft and thinning. Today at work I lost part of the mucus plug and began having contractions about every 6 minutes. I called the OB office and they had me to come in immediately. Again I was monitored but the OB said the contractions were not strong enough. Csection is still scheduled for April 17. My next visit is April 15.

April 15, 2003 - Everything still looks good. Csection is scheduled for 11:30 am on April 17.
